Welcome to Chandler’s Tree Farm.
Now is the time to donate or volunteer to make this Holiday even brighter for kids battling cancer at Texas Children's Hospital.
Chandler McBride was a courageous little boy who lost his battle with Leukemia when he was only two-years-old. His "Tree Farm" is our mission in his memory to help other children who are also battling Cancer at the Texas Children's Hospital Cancer Center.
Chandler spent his entire life fighting this disease at Texas Childen's Hospital. In 1998, Chandler's grandmother decided to donate Christmas trees to the kids at the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Chandler was well enough to participate in these deliveries in 1998 and 1999. Riding in his little red wagon, he helped deliver the trees, ornaments and gifts that had been collected for all of the patients. He rode all over the BMT unit along with Santa Claus and loved every minute of it!
Kevin and Dana, Chandler's dad and mom, continue this mission to honor his memory. Every Christmas their family and friends come together to give a little something back to the hospital and most importantly to be there in some way for the children and families in need.
We provide an escape from what normally is a very isolated life for transplant patients and their families. Through holiday gifts, visits and sharing the story
of love left behind by a remarkable little boy, we hope to bring joy to these
families who so deperately need it.
